Position Overview:
The Studio Operations Technician is tasked with providing essential support and oversight within the studio environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards while maintaining the integrity of studio facilities and equipment. This role primarily involves supervising studio activities during designated evening hours and on weekends, while also engaging in various facility enhancement projects as directed by management.

Key Responsibilities:
Studio Management - 60%

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of studio facilities, ensuring a safe and organized environment for all users.
  • Assist in the management of studio inventory and supplies, performing repairs as necessary.
  • Conduct mandatory safety orientations for studio users, along with specialized training sessions as required.
  • Manage the storage and handling of studio materials, including hazardous substances, while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Collaborate with the Studio Operations team to enhance the overall functionality and safety of the studio.
  • Participate in the relocation of studio resources as part of ongoing campus integration efforts.
Administrative Duties - 20%
  • Provide supervisory guidance to student workers, ensuring adherence to studio protocols and timely completion of tasks.
  • Coordinate with colleagues to implement studio policies and maintain documentation.
  • Assist in the upkeep of studio manuals and access records, ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines.
Academic Support - 15%
  • Facilitate the ordering of materials and support specialized demonstrations, while researching best practices for studio processes.
  • Foster a welcoming studio atmosphere that promotes safe and effective use of materials and techniques.
  • Engage with the academic community to ensure equitable access to studio resources.
Additional Responsibilities - 5%
  • Provide support for students in distress and offer technical assistance across various studio environments.
  • Participate in emergency response training and maintain readiness for unforeseen situations.
Qualifications:
Education:
BA or BFA required, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Skills:
Strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting. Familiarity with studio practices and safety regulations is essential.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and operating studio equipment safely.
