We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at New York University. This role will provide administrative support to the Alumni Relations department, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Alumni Relations team, including clerical, secretarial, and general office duties.
- Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees as needed.
- Act as a work leader to junior clerical support staff, providing guidance and support.
- Respond to inquiries and interact with the general public as a NYU liaison, displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's activities, policies, and programs.
- Customize and/or compose letters on own initiative or in response to requests for information.
- Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions.
- Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets.
- Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of office experience.
- Experience providing a high level of customer service.
- Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding.
- Good proofreading and writing skills.
- 2+ years of office experience (with Associate's degree).
- 1 year of office experience (with Bachelor's degree).
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $[insert rate]. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
