RESPONSIBILITIES

Weatherford is seeking a Sustainability Process and Controls Specialist to join our Corporate Sustainability team.

As a vital member of this team, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of the Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) organization's processes and controls. The Sustainability Specialist will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders across various internal departments, including Finance, Facility and Real Estate Leaders, Location Managers, HSE Professionals, and business leaders, to establish, review, implement, test, and continuously enhance processes and controls within our ESG programs. This role aims to ensure compliance with regulatory ESG frameworks, external assurance readiness, and alignment with ESG rating indices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize prior experience to guide and educate the organization in establishing effective governance, processes, and controls for external reporting and commitments.
  • Conduct internal reviews and ESG control testing through activities such as governance assessments, program maturity assessments, and data validation.
  • Provide insights to internal stakeholders on leading and emerging practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement improvements in climate-related metrics and opportunities, employing globally recognized methods and regulations.
  • Monitor trends and benchmark best practices in GHG calculations.
  • Recommend enhancements to data collection and reporting methods, working closely with stakeholders to develop business cases and track progress.
  • Report on progress to team members and management.
  • Suggest improvements to ESG programs for key functions and business partners.
  • Support the development and tracking of project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Assist in the annual Sustainability reporting process, gathering data and drafting strategic narratives for disclosures.
  • Contribute to the development of implementation standards, guidelines, and measurable KPIs to meet the overall ESG strategy.
  • Promote awareness of emerging environmental issues across the organization.
  • Collaborate with HSE counterparts to align operational environmental requirements with goals.
QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Education

REQUIRED
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in a Process & Controls or Sustainability role.
  • BS or MS degree in Accountancy or Environmental Engineering/Sciences, or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental ESG reporting frameworks and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Highly organized with strong project management capabilities.
  • Excellent influencing, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Experience in leading group processes and fostering collaboration.
PREFERRED
  • Experience with a Big 4 Consulting Firm.
  • Extensive experience with external Assurance Audits.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and management practices.
  • Familiarity with Workiva software.
  • Experience in developing sustainability clauses in contracts.
  • Experience in sustainability assurance projects.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including 365 and Project Manager.
  • Strong critical thinking and reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and build strong teams.
  • Good presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with experience in reviewing technical documents.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
