Interlink Talent Solutions is seeking a knowledgeable Sustainable Energy Legal Advisor with a robust background in eco-friendly forestry practices. As the renewable energy sector expands, our client is positioned at the forefront of assisting organizations in adapting to this dynamic market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal guidance on sustainable forestry projects, including wind energy initiatives, environmental certifications, carbon offset programs, biomass operations, and conservation agreements.
- Advise on adherence to environmental laws at the federal, state, and local levels, collaborating with regulatory bodies such as the EPA, USDA, and the U.S. Forest Service. Manage both contentious and non-contentious energy regulatory issues.
- Work alongside investors, developers, and landowners to design Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) projects, ensuring thorough oversight of financial, regulatory, land, tax, and contractual elements.
- Support clients in site selection, land procurement, regulatory consultation, and the negotiation of contracts and tax arrangements for solar and wind energy projects.
- Draft and negotiate agreements concerning the exploration, development, acquisition, and sale of land and energy assets. Counsel on state and local tax incentives, licensing, and permitting processes.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active membership in the Texas Bar Association.
- Substantial legal experience with a focus on forestry-related renewable energy initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in advising clients on sustainable forestry, carbon offset strategies, biomass operations, and associated environmental regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of CCUS projects, solar and wind energy investments, and energy-related legal disputes.
- Capability to manage multiple high-stakes projects and clients concurrently.
