KBR is seeking a Process Control Systems Project Engineer who will take charge of the technical and operational oversight of the process control system components, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Telecommunications, Instrumentation, and Process Analyzers for a significant greenfield refining and petrochemical initiative.
• Ensuring adherence to the Safety, Health, and Environmental plan; demonstrating a strong commitment to safety standards and being proactive in reporting safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
• Upholding compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies, and procedures.
• Developing and sustaining engineering plans.
• Managing multiple projects across various phases, from conception to execution, with a focus on cost, scope, schedule, and internal reporting requirements.
• Utilizing strong organizational skills and relationship-building abilities to influence both internal and external resources, yielding measurable results.
• Collaborating with internal and external engineering teams to produce the necessary deliverables for the Engineering Stage Gate Process.
• Operating under broad direction, this role entails responsibility, accountability, and authority to oversee the execution of engineering design in alignment with applicable specifications and standards to meet project goals.
• Ensuring projects achieve objectives (including cost, schedule, and scope) by managing the development, design, and execution of assigned projects according to specifications and standards.
• Guaranteeing accurate budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and reporting for assigned projects.
• Providing clear and precise scopes of work and construction packages, including necessary documentation.
• Analyzing and managing project risks.
• Facilitating safety and constructability assessments.
• Creating requisitions for engineered items and developing spare parts lists.
• Reporting on cost (including forecasting) and schedule performance.
• Communicating and resolving technical and commercial issues related to project objectives.
• Effectively liaising with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, procurement, project controls, and all other departments.
• Ensuring all project documentation is completed and up to date.
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
• 4-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in industrial refining and/or petrochemical sectors
• 5+ years of experience in project leadership roles
• Total Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency with electrical schematic drawings, logic diagrams, and panel schedules
• Experience in developing specifications and system designs
• Proven track record in leading initiatives and managing suppliers
• Strong organizational capabilities and effective task prioritization skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate and current project documentation.
