Job Overview

Salary: $80,000-$95,000 base plus percentage uplift for international travel.

We are looking for a BAS Field Technician / Lead Controls Specialist to support federal projects, particularly for U.S. military and government sites located Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS). This role involves significant travel, typically around 80%, based on project requirements.

Compensation: The salary range is $80,000-$95,000, with additional compensation for overseas travel. Daily per diem is provided while traveling, and bonuses are available on top of the base salary. Detailed compensation information will be discussed during the interview process.

Work Environment: This position is remote, allowing for flexibility in location within the United States. However, it requires up to 80% international travel for project durations of approximately 60-90 days, with no travel to designated war zones. All travel expenses are covered by the company.

Benefits: Employees are eligible for benefits starting on their first day of employment, including three weeks of paid vacation annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the on-site project leader to execute HVAC controls and Building Automation System (BAS) projects safely and efficiently.
  • Oversee the installation of hardware and software, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Manage system controller loading, verification, and commissioning, ensuring complete system functionality.
  • Provide technical support and training to subcontractors and clients.
  • Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators on system operations.
  • Adhere to safety standards and prioritize the safety of all personnel involved.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in system commissioning and programming of digital HVAC controls systems.
  • Familiarity with various electronic control systems and HVAC technologies.
  • Strong understanding of control theory and HVAC equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 80% of the time to international locations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys or Tridium Niagara DDC systems.
  • Knowledge of BAS communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LON.
  • Experience in supporting projects in international settings.
  • Prior experience with U.S. military or federal government projects.
