Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Avionics Specialist to join our team. This role involves critical maintenance and troubleshooting of advanced avionics systems in various military helicopters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct phase maintenance and system resets on CH-47, UH-60, and SH-60 aircraft.
  • Perform modifications, installations, and troubleshooting of avionics systems.
  • Route, run, and terminate wiring as part of system upgrades and repairs.

Core Duties:

  • Install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair avionics equipment, including radar, radio, navigation, and missile control systems.
  • Execute regular maintenance and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company specifications.
  • Diagnose avionics system malfunctions using specialized test equipment and software diagnostics.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics for effective installation and repair.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance avionics systems in line with technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately document all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and work performed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment, ensuring compliance with FAA and other regulatory bodies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance personnel and other departments as required.
  • Stay informed on new avionics technologies, regulations, and industry best practices through continuous training and professional development.
  • Assist in managing inventory of tools, equipment, and parts necessary for avionics maintenance and repair activities.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in avionics technology, electronics, or a related field.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as an avionics technician within the aviation sector.
  • Proficient in utilizing avionics test equipment, diagnostic tools, and software.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft electrical and avionics systems and their maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as necessary.
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week (overtime as needed).
  • 1st Shift - 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate between $30 and $34.
  • Daily per diem for eligible candidates.

Additional Information:

  • This position is part of a long-term contract with potential for hire.
  • Work will be conducted in a climate-controlled environment.
