Position Overview: Avion Solutions Inc., a company owned by its employees, is in search of a qualified FMS Project Engineer to contribute to the UHPO FMS initiative. This role is located in Huntsville, AL.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the UHPO Program Team tasked with overseeing and executing a technical helicopter development, integration, qualification, production, modification, fielding, and sustainment program.
  • Analyze and derive unique verification requirements for customer-country helicopter products.
  • Assist in formulating program acquisition strategies, estimating program costs and schedules, and conducting risk assessments along with mitigation strategies.
  • Gather, evaluate, and ensure compliance with product airworthiness requirements.
  • Develop and prepare Contract Requirements Packages (CRPs), including Statements of Work (SOW), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL), and Data Submission Lists (DSL).
  • Review contractor proposals for evaluation.
  • Ensure that CDRLs are processed, reviewed, responded to, and tracked in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Guarantee adherence to systems engineering processes, including the formulation of system, item, and airworthiness qualification specifications.
  • Support significant program technical reviews such as System Requirements Review (SRR), System Functional Review (SFR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and System Verification Review (SVR).
  • Ensure that aircraft products achieve Army airworthiness certification in compliance with AR 70-62 and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other Material Developers (e.g., UHPO, AMRDEC, AMCOM, and ACC) personnel.
  • Oversee contractor and supplier performance on contracts.
  • Engage with and present to representatives from the customer chain (e.g., SAMD, USASAC, DASA-DE&C, DSCA, State Department, Embassy, and Customer-Country).
Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, limited to domestic travel.
