GENERAL OVERVIEW:
  • Tyonek Native Corporation is engaged in providing comprehensive on-site and off-site maintenance and Functional Check Flight operations to support military aviation initiatives. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with relevant military directives and operational standards.
  • The responsibilities encompass executing all maintenance test flights on designated aircraft, diagnosing faults, troubleshooting issues, and overseeing the management of internal flight records for both contractor pilots and non-rated crew members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to perform duties as a Flight Instructor.
  • Must possess qualifications as an Aircraft Mechanic Level II.
  • Fulfill all requirements as a non-rated crew member in accordance with service guidelines for specific aircraft types.
  • Execute all responsibilities as a crew chief.
  • Assist pilots during in-flight operations, adhering to established military or FAA standards.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Possession of an FAA A&P license is preferred, or completion of a military aircraft repairer program for specific aircraft series.
  • A minimum of 7 years in Army aviation maintenance or 4 years of verifiable RDT&E experience in rotary wing aircraft maintenance is essential.
  • Experience in military installation DEPOT level maintenance is required.
  • Must hold a valid FAA or military Class III Medical Certificate as mandated by regulations.
  • Must meet minimum flight hour criteria as specified for crew chiefs.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

To successfully fulfill this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty effectively. The following physical requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed:
  • Ability to walk and stand on various surfaces for extended periods.
  • Capability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, including working at heights with appropriate safety measures.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, and demonstrate finger dexterity.
  • May need to lift up to 50 pounds and carry items over short distances.
  • Ability to read dials, gauges, and identify small objects and tools.
  • Must possess good vision to detect imperfections and read small scales.
  • Effective communication skills are required, including the ability to detect sounds.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors and assess three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate various vehicles, machinery, and hand tools.
