Job Summary
Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Electrical Harness Design and Analysis Engineer to join our In-Space Systems business unit. As a key member of our team, you will design, analyze, and test avionics routed interconnect systems for spacecraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze electrical harness designs in a cross-disciplinary team environment.
- Design and integrate electrical harnesses on space vehicles using 3D CAD software.
- Develop system and wiring interconnect diagrams, harness installation drawings, and 2D flat harness drawings.
- Perform harness component selection and configuration management of the electronic bill of materials (eBOM).
- Apply wire derating analysis and adhere to applicable harness standards, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620A and NASA-STD.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience designing wire harnesses for the space and/or aerospace industry.
- 5+ years of experience creating schematics, system interconnect diagrams, block interconnect diagrams, and wiring interconnect diagrams.
- 5+ years of experience with Creo and Windchill, or similar 3D software.
- 5+ years of experience in harness component selection and eBOM configuration management.
- Strong electrical and mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
- Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CREO Schematics and/or ZUKEN software.
- Experience with routing and installing RF coax cable.
- Experience with other high-end CAD routing software.
- Electrical and mechanical routing experience.
- Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes.
- Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems.
- Experience designing and integrating electrical harnessing for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or aircraft.
- Experience in harness manufacturing for the aerospace industry.
