Position Summary:

The Quality Technician is responsible for a range of duties aimed at monitoring and ensuring the quality testing of products. This role involves supporting corrective action containment, component measurement/testing, product certification, and various administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits of quality testing and documentation performed by operators, ensuring that testing is accurate and results are properly recorded and within specifications.
  • Analyze statistical run charts to identify trends in product quality and report findings to relevant personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and other quality standards and procedures.
  • Authorize the release of finished goods based on quality audits.
  • Participate in Root Cause Investigations and propose corrective actions for customer SCARs.
  • Perform special testing, failure analysis, validations, and other required assessments.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to manufacturing staff regarding acceptable product standards.
  • Collaborate with quality engineering teams to develop product testing procedures and specifications.
  • Assist in the disposition of rejected items as part of the Material Review Board.
  • Carry out regular calibration of measuring and testing equipment and coordinate external calibration services.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned or necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with Quality Standards such as ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Proficient in using micrometers, calipers, video measuring equipment, and other common inspection tools.
  • Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) charting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills for problem identification and resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of the metric system and general metrology is a plus.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification/training is a plus.
