Position Overview:
This role requires the Quality Technician to execute a variety of tasks aimed at monitoring and ensuring the quality testing of products. Responsibilities include supporting corrective action containment, component measurement/testing, product certification, and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits of quality testing and documentation performed by operators, ensuring results are accurately recorded and meet specifications without errors.
- Analyze statistical run charts to identify trends in product quality and report findings to relevant personnel.
- Ensure compliance with ISO and other quality standards and procedures.
- Authorize the release of finished goods based on quality audits.
- Engage in Root Cause Investigations and propose corrective actions for customer SCARs.
- Perform special testing, failure analysis, validations, and other required assessments.
- Provide guidance and instruction to manufacturing staff regarding acceptable product standards.
- Collaborate with quality engineering teams to develop product testing procedures and specifications.
- Assist in the evaluation of rejected items as part of the Material Review Board.
- Oversee the calibration of measuring and testing equipment and coordinate external calibration services.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Quality Standards such as ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485.
- Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, video measuring equipment, and other standard inspection tools.
- Basic understanding of SPC control charting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical skills for problem analysis and resolution.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of the metric system and general metrology is advantageous.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification is a plus.
