The Opportunity

We're seeking a Strategic Business Developer to join our team and drive growth in our client cargo insurance sales program. As a key member of our sales team, you'll be responsible for assisting with internal enablement sessions, renewal processes, client management, and book of business analysis.

You'll have a critical role in executing cross-functional strategic projects related to growth strategy and sales operations. Your expertise will help streamline processes for our clients, vendors, and partners globally, while making our teams more efficient by driving standardization and efficiencies within the sales team.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Execute onboarding and off-boarding processing to drive efficiencies for clients and Business Development managers.
  2. Support sales and client solutions teams to cross-sell Flexport Insurance products to existing Flexport customers and new insurance-led customers.
  3. Liaise with client, internal, and external teams to gather information necessary to retain, place, and maintain insurance deals.
  4. Focus on retention/upsell efforts for existing book of business, with a core responsibility of retaining active clients and upselling new and additional products to existing clients.
  5. Manage all internal enablement meetings, reviewing accounts, scheduling meetings with internal stakeholders to review active books of business that don't leverage Flexport insurance, and identifying good prospect accounts to present research to BDMs.
What We're Looking For
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of professional work experience in Sales, Business Development, Client Success, or Insurance
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Fearlessness in explaining Flexport's value proposition to new people every day
  • An obsession with prospect happiness and setting the stage for effective sales follow-up
  • The courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances
  • A mastery of email communication and the ability to execute outbound sourcing and prospecting initiatives
