The YMCA of the North seeks an Event Coordinator for Youth Activities to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests and event attendees. This role involves greeting and directing guests upon arrival, setting up and taking down events, providing information as needed, and ensuring the event goes as planned.

The incumbent provides quality customer service and ensures a safe, fun, and positive environment for event participants. Events may include weddings, special events, corporate events, retreats, and fundraisers.

  • Implement event/program services for groups as prearranged through the contract, as well as spontaneously throughout the groups stay, if applicable.
  • Communicate and collaborate successfully with program staff and food service to ensure accurate information, resources, and staffing, if applicable.
  • Greet groups on arrival and direct them to their event, meeting, and accommodations.
  • Orient groups to locations of facilities, guest policies, and emergency information.
  • For youth events, plan and facilitate activities, engage with youth during the party, set up, tear down, and clean room, activities, and amenities.

This position requires a minimum of 18 years of age, BLS, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications within 30 days of hire. Strong attention to detail and ability to act calmly and decisively in emergencies are essential.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, flexibility when dealing with various groups and situations, strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience speaking to groups, and ability to represent the YMCA with high professionalism are also required.

The estimated salary for this position is $16/hour. Ability to travel to various locations, lift 50 lbs to support event setup and teardown, and work 12+ hour shifts on event days and be on-call as needed are necessary.
