Position Summary

We are currently seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide essential technical assistance within our corporate office. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth operation of our information systems and requires full-time onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address technical support inquiries via phone, email, and service requests promptly, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Diagnose, investigate, and resolve information systems challenges effectively.
  • Utilize the help desk system and problem management database for tracking and resolution.
  • Educate employees on established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Provide training on the proper use of technical equipment.
  • Deliver technical and functional support to the internal user community.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Monitor server performance and conduct hardware/software repairs as required.
  • Manage inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records related to equipment distribution and user assignments.
  • Assist in diagnosing network and telecommunications outages.
  • Refer hardware or software issues to vendors for service as needed.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Document all work performed in the company's help desk software clearly and timely.
  • Occasionally travel to various company divisions to address technical issues.
  • Engage in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience in a support or help desk role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient understanding of networking technologies and various networking platforms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PC and commercial software applications, including the MS Office Suite.
  • Capacity for self-directed learning of new software and technologies.
  • Experience in the installation, configuration, and support of PCs, printers, and peripherals.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities.
