The Credit Analyst is responsible for assisting the Credit Manager by conducting thorough analyses on various credit-related matters, drafting tariff language, supporting regulatory submissions, and representing clients in presentations at stakeholder meetings. The (Sr./Lead) Credit Analyst will also oversee and provide assistance for daily operations, including member position tracking, collateral requests, and resolving member inquiries.
The (Sr./Lead) Credit Analyst will mentor and guide other analysts within the Treasury Department as necessary. This role ensures compliance with Tariff requirements for both clients and Members, actively participating in member-focused departmental activities such as addressing inquiries, monitoring member credit exposure, issuing collateral requests, and managing collateral returns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Cash Management, Member Relations, and Transmission Planning teams.
- Respond to inquiries from members and applicants.
- Provide credit support to various departments within the organization.
- Generate monthly exposure reports and letters of credit for members.
- Evaluate and process credit applications.
- Monitor member activities against established credit limits.
- Issue collateral requests as necessary.
- Manage the processing of collateral returns.
- Conduct analyses and prepare reports on various credit issues, including member activity, collateral trends, participant data, creditworthiness assessments, and impacts of credit policy changes.
- Represent the credit function and address credit-related concerns.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings to discuss credit functions.
- Prepare and revise FERC filings as required.
- Draft and maintain credit policies, manuals, and internal process documentation.
- Provide recommendations and modifications to credit policies and systems.
- Review and adjust the credit scoring system as needed.
- Offer guidance and oversight to Credit and Senior Credit Analysts.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Treasurer on cash-related credit issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5-10 years of experience in credit risk management.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience in both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint).
