Job Description

Fannie Mae is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Multifamily LIHTC Underwriting Associate to join our team. As a key member of our affordable housing team, you will play a critical role in supporting the review of potential affordable multi-family developments and participating in the underwriting and closing of LIHTC investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze multifamily transactions to identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Conduct research on transaction attributes, including market trends and development team expertise
  • Assist in the underwriting and closing of LIHTC investments, including evaluating credit risks and developing proforma models
  • Collaborate with syndicator partners to identify potential affordable multi-family developments
  • Support the Director and other team members in underwriting and closing potential affordable multifamily proprietary investments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questions
  • Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion
  • Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal
  • Knowledge of, or working experience with, Multifamily real estate
  • Highly motivated self-starter with good attention to detail
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills who is energized by working in a collaborative, dynamic and evolving team environment
