Position Overview:
MV Transportation is in search of a Deputy General Manager who will play a crucial role in providing leadership and strategic direction to our operational site. This position is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of our annual business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance customer relationships through direct engagement and outreach initiatives.
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff at the location to foster a high-performing team.
- Maintain open lines of communication with team members and support staff.
- Oversee the vehicle maintenance program to guarantee fleet readiness for service demands.
- Implement and supervise safety and training protocols to comply with company and regulatory standards.
- Regularly engage with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Conduct routine audits of departmental operations.
- Analyze key operational metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Continuously manage financial performance metrics, reporting exceptions and developing action plans to meet financial, safety, and operational goals.
- Promote adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with committees to drive positive changes in policies and programs.
- Participate in labor relations and employee engagement activities.
- Provide insights to support contract renewal processes.
- Develop and present the annual budget for the location.
Qualifications:
- A college degree or equivalent experience in business management.
- Proven management experience is essential.
- A minimum of five years in operations management, with at least seven years in a supervisory role within a transit environment, including knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software.
- Expertise in labor negotiations and union relations.
- Comprehensive understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and compliance with DOT and FTA regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Additional responsibilities may vary based on specific contract needs.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting Pay Rate: $175,000 - $225,000
Healthcare Benefits: Includes PPO Medical, Medical HSA, Prescription, Dental, Vision (for spouse and dependent children), Telemedicine, FSA, Life, AD&D, Group Accident, LTD, STD, EAP, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity.
Retirement Benefits: 401k plan available.
Paid Time Off: Accrual of 1.54 bi-weekly hours for the first three years, with a maximum of 40 hours per year.
Paid Holidays: Eight paid holidays annually.
Generous Paid Sick Leave: Accrual of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked for all full-time employees.
Other Compensation: Referral bonuses of $1,000 for drivers and mechanics, distributed upon completion of training and probationary periods.
