Job OverviewPosition Summary

We are looking for a Clinical Advanced Practice Provider to become a vital member of our Hematology and Oncology team at University Hospitals. This role is structured as a full-time opportunity, encompassing a balanced schedule of clinical and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and establish diagnoses based on thorough assessment data and contemporary scientific research.
  • Develop and execute care plans, implementing interventions that align with established protocols and standards of care.
  • Engage in collaborative practice with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal care to patients and their families.
  • Order and carry out standard diagnostic tests.
  • Create and manage individualized treatment strategies.
  • Assess the effectiveness of therapeutic measures.
  • Contribute to the educational growth of colleagues, patients, and families.
  • Exhibit progressive leadership and proficient management skills.
  • Provide educational support through role modeling and training sessions to address identified learning needs and foster professionalism.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education, and peer review participation.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients and their families.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

Proven expertise as a healthcare practitioner.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Familiarity with various technical patient care equipment relevant to the clinical specialty.

Proficient in using computers and selected office technologies.

Experience and Skills:

Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Proficient interpersonal skills.

Educational Background:

Nurse Practitioner:

Doctorate in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on clinical practice.

Physician Assistant:

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program with NCCPA certification.

Required Credentials, Licensure, or Certification:

Nurse Practitioner:

BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.

Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio.

Current APRN license in Ohio.

Physician Assistant:

BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.

NCCPA certification.

DEA license required.
