Job OverviewPosition Summary

We are looking for an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Trauma Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery division. This role involves working 12-hour shifts that alternate between day and night, including weekends and holidays. Candidates must be Acute Care Nurse Practitioners, with a preference for those who have experience in Trauma and ICU settings. New graduates with a critical care background are also welcome to apply.

  • Conducts comprehensive patient evaluations and establishes diagnoses based on assessment data and current medical research.
  • Develops and executes care plans, implementing interventions in line with established protocols and standards.
  • Engages in collaborative practice with other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal care to patients and their families.
  • Orders and performs standard diagnostic tests.
  • Creates and implements treatment strategies.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of therapeutic measures.
  • Contributes to the educational growth of staff, patients, families, and self.
  • Exhibits leadership qualities and effective management skills.
  • Provides educational support through role modeling and training sessions to address identified learning needs and foster professionalism.
  • Pursues personal professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education, and participation in peer review activities.

  • Must comply with all regulations to securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Annual training and adherence to the hospital's Code of Conduct and policies regarding PHI usage are mandatory.
Qualifications

External Qualifications

Proven competence as a healthcare practitioner
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with various technical patient care equipment specific to the clinical area
Proficient in using computers and office technology

Education and Expertise:
Nurse Practitioner: Doctorate in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on clinical practice.

Physician Assistant: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program with NCCPA certification.

Required Credentials, Licensure, or Certification:
Nurse Practitioner: BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; Current Registered Nurse license to practice in Ohio; Current APRN license to practice in Ohio.

Physician Assistant: BLS certification required; ACLS preferred; NCCPA-Certified; DEA license.

*ATLS certification should be obtained prior to commencement of the role.
