Job OverviewPosition Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to become a vital member of our Heart Failure ICU team at University Hospitals. The role involves a rotating schedule that includes Day and Night shifts, as well as Weekends and Holidays. Candidates with experience in APP and LVAD are highly preferred. We welcome applicants with critical care experience, particularly in mechanical support devices and heart failure management. Newly graduated Nurse Practitioners with relevant critical care exposure will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and establish diagnoses based on clinical data and current research.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in alignment with established protocols and standards.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal care to patients and their families.
  • Order and perform essential diagnostic tests.
  • Formulate and execute treatment strategies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
  • Contribute to the educational growth of staff, patients, and families.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities and effective management skills.
  • Provide educational support through role modeling and in-service training to address identified learning needs.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through self-directed learning and continuing education.
  • Foster positive relationships with patients and colleagues.
  • Take initiative in personal development and promote a culture of learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the mission and values of University Hospitals.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) is required.

Experience:

  • Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in accessing patient medical data through healthcare systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio is required.
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the State of Ohio is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

Additional Certifications:

  • Current APRN License is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Occasional climbing and balancing.
  • Constant talking, hearing, and hand-eye coordination.
