Position Overview:

The Cleveland Clinic Cancer Institute is in search of dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to join our Radiation Oncology Program, focusing on outpatient care for patients undergoing treatment for genitourinary cancers.

Role Summary:

As an APP, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive healthcare services, including the management of patients during their radiation therapy journey and beyond. This role emphasizes patient education and long-term survivorship care, ensuring that individuals receive the support they need throughout their treatment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough medical assessments, including detailed histories and physical examinations, to evaluate patient health status.
  • Collaborate closely with supervising physicians to formulate and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring accurate identification of health issues.
  • Administer routine medical procedures such as injections, suturing, and wound care, while also managing more complex cases as necessary.
  • Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and potential side effects, fostering an environment of informed decision-making.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care quality and continuity.
  • Facilitate referrals to specialists when needed, ensuring comprehensive care pathways for patients.
  • Engage in research initiatives and quality improvement projects to advance clinical practices.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or as a Physician Assistant.
  • National certification in your respective field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be necessary based on the work setting.
