Apparel Materials Coordinator

Overview
Aquent is seeking a meticulous and adaptable professional to join our footwear client's materials development team. This role is crucial for supporting the management and consolidation of apparel palettes while ensuring efficiency within the material studio. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of textiles and data management, coupled with strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
As the primary liaison for material testing methodologies, you will ensure the integrity and accuracy of test data within our systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Communicating with both domestic and international partners to procure materials and troubleshoot testing challenges.
- Overseeing the organization of material samples to facilitate a consolidation project.
- Conducting data analysis to assess palette usage and pinpoint consolidation opportunities.
Collaboration
You will work closely with the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM) and various partners across Apparel, including Development, Operations, Product Design, Merchandising, Technical Development, Sourcing, and Manufacturing. Effective teamwork is essential to optimize palette development and management.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Textiles, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills for managing physical materials and data files.
- An understanding of color application on materials.
- Knowledge of apparel and material construction principles.
- Effective multitasking capabilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within diverse teams.
- Networking skills to leverage internal and external resources.
- A self-starter attitude with a commitment to teamwork in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Adobe Illustrator.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
- An understanding of the product creation process and the apparel industry.
- The ability to clearly define and communicate goals and objectives.
Compensation
The anticipated compensation range for this position is between $23.99 and $26.66 per hour, influenced by factors such as education, relevant experience, certifications, and location.
