Role Overview:

Corestaff Services is seeking a dedicated Product Development Engineer to contribute to our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive significant product enhancements that align with our objectives in cost efficiency, quality assurance, and service excellence. The selected candidate will report to the Lead Project Engineer and will be engaged in a full-time capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead collaborative design reviews and validation plans with both internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee modifications to existing products by managing components and modules through various stages including design, initial engineering builds, pilot runs, and production part approval processes (PPAP).
  • Define and manage product and system specifications to establish clear requirements for models or components.
  • Direct technical team resources in developing design requirements and conducting risk assessments throughout project execution, utilizing established design standards and methodologies.
  • Establish and validate comprehensive system-level product requirements through testing, simulation, and prototyping methods.
  • Facilitate technical issue resolution by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Design and execute test plans, effectively communicating results and implications of technical challenges to a diverse audience.
  • Evaluate and approve technical trade-offs to ensure successful production integration.
  • Be prepared for occasional travel, up to 10%, within the United States and internationally.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in product design, PPAP, and design verification and validation, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in a systems engineering role, with proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities, with a knack for simplifying complex issues.
  • Familiarity with engineering modeling software, particularly CAD software (preferably Creo) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, stamping, finishing, and assembly.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in design for manufacturability, cost estimation, GD&T, Systems DFMEA, PPAP, and design verification and validation.
