Responsibilities
The Clinical Admissions Nurse plays a crucial role in our treatment team, providing professional nursing care to patients with minimal supervision. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of our treatment philosophy, admission protocols, and medical knowledge related to substance abuse and dual diagnosis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct the nursing admissions process, including explaining services and costs, and performing intake screenings to evaluate client situations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service standards for both internal and external clients.
- Review admission referrals and collaborate with navigators for appropriate placements.
- Triage incoming clients to determine the necessary level of care.
- Communicate with team members regarding non-life-threatening medical concerns to develop action plans for clients.
- Build rapport with clients to identify care requirements and provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
- Promote client independence by setting care goals and educating clients about their conditions and self-care.
- Ensure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and making necessary adjustments based on health outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with established procedures.
- Protect clients and staff by following infection control policies and medication administration protocols.
- Document patient care services accurately in client and departmental records.
- Maintain continuity of care through effective communication and documentation.
- Safeguard client confidentiality and protect operational integrity.
- Manage nursing supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.
- Enhance professional knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing relevant publications.
- Foster teamwork by communicating effectively and participating in collaborative problem-solving.
- Report safety issues promptly in accordance with incident reporting policies.
- Demonstrate effective delegation and coordination of nursing services.
- Act as a role model for nursing staff and provide feedback to the Director of Nursing on staff performance.
- Exercise sound judgment in policy adherence to ensure patient safety.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and staff education.
- Assist in training new staff members.
- Coordinate care plans with providers and nursing staff to meet individual treatment needs.
- Regular attendance is essential.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Familiarity with mental health and addiction treatment is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in managing confidential information and time management.
- Skilled in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records.
Physical Requirements

Certifications and Licenses:
- Active RN license in the state of operation is required.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
