Responsibilities
The Clinical Admissions Nurse plays a crucial role in understanding the facility's treatment philosophy, admission protocols, and the necessary support services. This position requires a professional level of nursing care delivered with minimal supervision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive nursing admissions processes, which involve explaining services and costs, and performing intake screenings to evaluate clients' needs.
- Providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Reviewing admission referrals and collaborating with navigators for appropriate client placement.
- Triage incoming clients to determine the necessary level of care.
- Communicating with medical team members regarding non-life-threatening medical concerns to develop appropriate care plans.
- Building rapport with clients to identify their care requirements.
- Creating a supportive environment that addresses the emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of clients and their families.
- Encouraging client independence by setting care goals and educating clients about their conditions and self-care.
- Ensuring quality care by adhering to established therapeutic standards and making necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment in accordance with established procedures.
- Upholding infection control policies and medication management protocols.
- Documenting patient care services accurately in client and departmental records.
- Facilitating continuity of care through effective communication and documentation.
- Maintaining confidentiality of client information and protecting operational integrity.
- Managing nursing supplies inventory and anticipating needs.
- Enhancing professional knowledge through ongoing education and training.
- Fostering a collaborative relationship among healthcare team members.
- Participating in performance improvement initiatives and staff education.
- Assisting in training new staff members.
- Coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure individualized treatment plans.
- Exhibiting regular and consistent attendance.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of mental health and addiction treatment is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in managing confidential information and time management.
- Familiarity with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records.
Physical Requirements

Certifications and Licenses:
- Active RN license in the state of operation is required.
