Job Summary

International Leadership of Texas is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing therapy and support services to students with mental, physical, or emotional disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Therapy Services: Plan and provide direct and consultative services to students with disabilities, consistent with occupational therapy goals contained in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assessment and Eligibility: Assess students with disabilities and determine their eligibility for services, participating in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist with the interpretation of assessment data and goal setting.
  • Consultation and Staff Development: Consult with educational staff and parents regarding occupational therapy, providing staff development training in assigned schools to assist personnel with the selection and use of adaptive equipment and understanding of occupational therapy programs.
  • Student Management and Program Development: Create an environment conducive to learning, establish control and administer discipline according to the Student Code of Conduct, and develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of the occupational therapy program.
  • Administration and Communication: Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required, effectively communicating with colleagues, students, and parents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy or a related program.
  • Valid Texas license as an occupational therapist granted by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation procedures, activities, and equipment used in occupational therapy.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

Regular districtwide travel to assigned campuses, moderate lifting, and the ability to lift and transfer students to and from wheelchairs or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities.
