Responsibilities
The Admissions Registered Nurse plays a vital role in our treatment team, providing a high level of nursing care to patients with minimal supervision. This position requires a deep understanding of our treatment philosophy, admission protocols, and the medical needs of individuals with substance abuse and dual diagnosis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct the nursing admissions process, including explaining services and costs, and performing intake screenings to evaluate client needs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Review admission referrals and collaborate with navigators for appropriate patient placement.
- Triage incoming clients to determine the necessary level of care.
- Communicate with medical staff regarding non-life-threatening medical concerns and follow established protocols for emergencies.
- Build rapport with clients to identify their care requirements effectively.
- Create a supportive environment by offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual assistance to clients and their families.
- Encourage client independence by setting care goals and educating them about their conditions and self-care.
- Ensure quality of care by adhering to established therapeutic standards and making necessary adjustments based on health outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Protect client confidentiality and uphold operational integrity by managing sensitive information responsibly.
- Oversee nursing supplies inventory and anticipate needs for replenishment.
- Enhance professional knowledge through workshops and professional literature.
- Foster teamwork by effectively communicating with healthcare colleagues and participating in problem-solving initiatives.
- Document patient care accurately and maintain continuity of care through clear communication.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and assist in training new staff members.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Familiarity with mental health and addiction treatment is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in managing confidential information and time management.
- Skilled in technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records.
Physical Requirements

Certifications and Licenses:
- Active RN license in the state of practice is required.
