Position: Residential Support Staff


About Us: SafeHouse Denver has dedicated 47 years to enhancing the lives of those affected by domestic violence. Our mission is to provide a secure environment where survivors feel believed, supported, and empowered. We aim to raise community awareness about domestic violence through education and collaboration. We are currently seeking a Residential Support Staff member who possesses strong organizational, time management, and crisis intervention skills to assist in our mission of serving more survivors effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to individuals accessing the 24-hour crisis line, providing emotional support and crisis intervention.
  • Offer information and education regarding domestic abuse, trauma responses, and coping strategies.
  • Assist callers in assessing their immediate needs and developing actionable plans.
  • Conduct initial intake for new residents, orienting them to the shelter and assessing their needs.
  • Provide individual advocacy and counseling to residents, helping them set and achieve short-term goals.
  • Maintain a safe and respectful living environment through emotional support and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all interactions and services provided.
  • Demonstrate initiative in service quality and improvement, working towards agency goals.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Associate's degree in social work or a related field; one or more years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree; two years of experience in crisis intervention.
  • Strong technical skills, particularly in MS Office.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  • A passion for the mission of SafeHouse Denver and an understanding of organizational change.
