Job Overview

Core Responsibilities:
  • The Centralized Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing make-ready tasks across a variety of Equity Residential properties, ensuring that we meet our commitments to residents regarding exceptional move-in experiences and overall satisfaction.
  • This position involves performing maintenance duties such as painting, repairs, and carpet cleaning to uphold make-ready standards. Occasionally, this role may support on-site teams with scheduled maintenance tasks and emergency services.
  • Local travel between properties is a requirement.
  • Engages in a range of maintenance activities, including plumbing, electrical work, light carpentry, re-keying locks, and repairs of HVAC systems and appliances.
  • Prepares apartments for market readiness, which encompasses painting, cleaning, and general repairs to provide an outstanding move-in experience for residents.
  • Utilizes management software effectively to track progress on assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and maintenance of all company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Reports maintenance issues in vacant units and common areas to the Service Manager.
  • Participates in scheduled maintenance programs and documents activities in maintenance logs.
  • Possesses knowledge of federal and state housing regulations and internal maintenance policies.
Qualifications for Success:
  • Experience in residential or commercial property management, hospitality, or retail.
  • Background in customer service and sales.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Proficient in computer use and effective communication.
  • Familiarity with housing laws at the federal and state levels.
  • Availability for a flexible work schedule, including weekends.
  • Possession of a smartphone.
Compensation: $20.24 - $24.73 per hour, with starting pay determined by relevant skills and experience.
