Manufacturing Technician with Mechanical Expertise

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role involves executing a range of tasks based on both verbal and written directives, including operator instructions, technical drawings, and various production documentation as specified by management. Responsibilities encompass measuring and cutting materials, operating machinery such as benders, presses, and cutting devices, as well as engaging in the assembly of diverse chain products and accessories. Additionally, the position requires operating equipment for product transfer, welding components, managing packaging processes, and utilizing the JDE/RFS computer system. General clean-up duties may also be assigned as needed. Employees in this role are expected to be well-rounded and skilled in multiple tasks within the production area.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with team leads to set up and adjust machinery.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, preventative maintenance, and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure products meet quality specifications.
  • Complete necessary process and quality documentation accurately.
  • Maintain respectful communication with colleagues.
  • Operate with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands of this position require the employee to frequently stand, use hands for handling or feeling, and communicate verbally. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. The employee must regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds, utilizing assistance for heavier loads. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment presents characteristics typical of industrial settings. Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and occasional vibrations. The noise level is generally high.
