Sous Chef Job Description

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Menu Development and Execution: Collaborate with the culinary team to design and implement menus that showcase the restaurant's commitment to quality and creativity.
  • Staff Supervision and Training: Lead and mentor kitchen staff to ensure they possess the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
  • Inventory Management and Cost Control: Oversee the ordering and inventory of ingredients and supplies to optimize costs and minimize waste.
  • Food Safety and Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous food safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of quality and cleanliness.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication: Foster a positive and productive team environment by promoting open communication, respect, and a shared commitment to excellence.

**Requirements:**

  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma is required, with a college degree or culinary certification preferred. A minimum of 3 years of culinary experience is necessary, with a proven track record of success in a senior kitchen role.
  • Certifications and Skills: ServSafe certification is required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Physical Demands: The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 50 pounds is essential.
