Job Overview

Position: Virtual Server Administrator

Role Summary

The Virtual Server Administrator will be responsible for the effective management and upkeep of a virtualized Microsoft environment. Key responsibilities include conducting system audits, executing routine maintenance tasks, collaborating with other teams to address incidents, and ensuring compliance with change control protocols.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to deliver presentations and briefings as required

Technical Competencies:

  • Manage and operate a virtualized Microsoft (MS) environment.
  • Conduct daily system checks, monitor and respond to events in various management tools, and execute server patch management.
  • Inform Government representatives of any issues affecting the performance of the operating environment.
  • Perform system audit reviews and carry out maintenance tasks to ensure system integrity.
  • Coordinate with other departments and personnel to resolve incidents or events related to systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Adhere to change control standards and procedures, problem resolution, troubleshooting techniques, and utilize remote server management tools.
Qualifications

Education & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • VMware Certified Associate (VCA) certification
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • One of the following certifications is required: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIG, CCSP

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with Active Directory (AD), clustering, Domain Name System (DNS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
