Role Overview

Peraton is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to spearhead a significant initiative with one of our long-term clients. In this capacity, the Systems Integration Engineer will provide expert guidance in the planning, exploration, design, and execution of both physical and virtual infrastructure systems. The engineer will be tasked with designing and engineering virtual infrastructure utilizing various hypervisors and VOi technologies, including Hyper-V, XenServer, ESXi, and VMWare. Additionally, the engineer will create, maintain, and support a range of workstation and server images across both Windows and Linux operating systems. Responsibilities also include the development and maintenance of automated system patching and software deployment processes, as well as producing comprehensive network design diagrams and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and engineering of virtual infrastructure and support desktop systems utilizing Windows operating systems.
  • Architect workstations and server infrastructures optimized for high latency, low bandwidth networks using satellite or cellular broadband technologies.
  • Implement and support automated system patching and software deployment.
  • Generate detailed network design diagrams and documentation.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in:
    • Designing and engineering virtual infrastructure and supporting desktop systems with Windows operating systems.
    • Creating infrastructures for workstations and servers in high latency, low bandwidth environments.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in:
    • Engineering virtual infrastructure with various hypervisors.
    • Utilizing VOi technologies such as Hyper-V, XenServer, ESXi, and VMWare.
    • Working with Windows and Linux operating systems.
    • Facilitating automated system patching and software deployment.
    • Producing detailed network design diagrams and documentation.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, or Network Administration, or a Master's degree in a related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with the capability to obtain SCI and polygraph clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert or an equivalent level of certification is highly desirable.

Compensation Range

The typical salary range for this position is $135,000 - $216,000, reflecting the expected compensation based on experience and other relevant factors.
