This position reports directly to the Controller and will be a hybrid role, with the expectation of three days per week on-site in our Burlington, MA corporate headquarters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements for monthly reporting to the ownership group
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns
  • Perform fluctuation analysis alongside the Controller on a monthly basis
Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Collaborate with FP&A to develop and manage annual budgets
  • Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts for various corporate expenses
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve budgetary control and cost efficiency
General Ledger Management:
  • Assist the Controller with maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Review and post staff journal entries
  • Prepare journal entries for various financial transactions
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  • Assist the Controller with the accounts payable team, as needed
  • Assist the Controller with the accounts receivable team, as needed
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and customers as necessary
Audit and Compliance:
  • Assist in the preparation for external audits (ERISA and Year End)
  • Assist the Controller with ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
  • Provide iterative improvements to the internal control environment
Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with the finance team and cross-functional departments to achieve financial objectives
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members, fostering their professional development

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred but not required
  • Proven experience (4+ years) in accounting roles with escalating responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
  • Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
