POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Financial Analyst collaborates closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and accounting practices within the organization. This role is integral to the month-end closing process and reconciliation tasks. The analyst will oversee, guide, mentor, and train the accounts payable team, ensuring adherence to best practices. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing the accounting processes related to capital projects and fixed assets. The analyst will assist in preparing necessary documentation for the annual audit and may contribute to tax and governmental reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
CERTIFICATION:
CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
SKILLS:
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficient in electronic data processing systems and general ledger software.
Demonstrated expertise in spreadsheet applications (Excel) and word processing tools.
Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
Proven supervisory capabilities that foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of five years of accounting experience is required, including: preparation of financial statements; general ledger month-end processes; analysis of account variances; financial analytics; audit preparation; experience with joint ventures, partnership, and consolidation accounting; accounts payable management with increasing responsibilities; complex fixed asset management; and financial oversight of healthcare practices.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to:
Accounting Manager and Controller.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office setting with potential exposure to deadlines and competing priorities. Must maintain composure while managing multiple responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Extensive data entry using ergonomic practices. Familiarity with general safety standards is required.
