Retail Operations Manager

Thuma is seeking a Retail Operations Manager to lead the operations of our retail stores.
This role involves overseeing the full spectrum of store operations for both new and existing locations, playing a pivotal role in their setup and success.
Key responsibilities include planning and executing new store openings, implementing guest engagement flows, ensuring visual merchandising standards, inventory management, systems operations, new product launches, and assisting in team hiring, while ensuring 6-star guest experience, operational excellence, hitting store KPIs and reporting.
Success in this role requires exceptional communication skills, the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and a proactive approach to planning and meeting deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in retail operations, strong project management skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and managing store operations opening timelines to ensure stores are ready by the target date.
- Overseeing physical setup and working cross-functionally on visual merchandising and inventory setup, while coordinating fixtures and supplies to meet design and functionality needs.
- Setting up and managing essential systems such as Shopify POS, Calendly, Gladly, Banking Systems, and Verkada for foot traffic monitoring, ensuring seamless integration and functionality for store operations.
- Designing inventory management processes, including product and brand asset procurement. Overseeing reordering to maintain optimal stock levels for retail and cafe operations, while managing barcode systems and cycle counts.
- Working cross-functionally to maintain and enhance visual merchandising standards, including the initial design, setup, and continuous testing of new elements to improve guest experience.
- Managing the execution of new product launches, ensuring cohesive inventory, pricing, and display plans.
- Managing the integration of cafe operations with the retail space.
- Recruiting, hiring, and training staff for both retail and cafe operations, developing standardized recruiting plans and training programs.
- Managing team evaluations and continuous learning opportunities.
- Building, standardizing, and effectively sharing SOPs for efficient store operations for retail expansion.
- Leading retail reporting efforts. Synthesizing the data and sharing results with senior leadership.
Requirements include:
- Proven experience in retail operations or store management.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Strong system management skills, with proficiency in Shopify POS, NetSuite and related tools.
- Experience in inventory management and process optimization.
- Experience in hiring and training retail staff.
- A proactive approach to improving guest experience and store operations.
