Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at The Avenues Transitional Care Center. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our state-of-the-art rehabilitation and nursing services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, allocate workloads, and manage employee performance.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance assistants and housekeepers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Manage department budgets, secure quotes, and recommend vendors to meet maintenance needs.
  • Lead safety training, inspections, and participate in the safety committee to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years maintenance experience, with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a solid understanding of building maintenance, repairs, and safety.
  • Professional communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in all work-related situations.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and troubleshooting skills, with experience in repairing washers/dryers, heating/refrigeration units, and minor plumbing and electrical issues.
  • Basic computer, office equipment, and facility maintenance tool knowledge.
  • Proven knowledge of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Meets the physical requirements of the position, including standing on ladders, working on light, bathroom, and other fixtures and appliances, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, etc.
