We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance of Way Supervisor to join our team at the North County Transit District. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities within the railroad right-of-way, ensuring safe and efficient movement of trains along the San Diego and Escondido Subdivisions.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise maintenance activities within the railroad right-of-way, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety management system principles.
- Plan, develop, and schedule work that supports the maintenance of the right-of-way and related equipment for NCTD operations.
- Monitor and inspect the right-of-way, maintenance facility, and maintenance equipment to evaluate service quality and compliance with NCTD policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on right-of-way maintenance and contractor compliance.
- Recommend updates and changes to policies and procedures for areas of responsibility.
- Pursue resolution and correction of right-of-way maintenance deficiencies, including management of projects as needed.
- Coordinate and communicate with member and government agencies, municipalities, and members of the public to ensure that right-of-way issues and concerns are properly addressed.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field is desired.
- Minimum five (5) years directly relevant experience in rail system (private or public sector) required.
- Knowledge of right-of-way maintenance principles, including track safety standards 49 CFR Part 213 Subpart A to F Class of Track 1-5.
- Experience with comprehensive preventive maintenance practices, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations and inspection timing regulations, and APTA safety standards as they pertain to Rail ROW equipment.
- Familiarity with additional support systems (wayside communication equipment).
- Knowledge of material management maintenance systems.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
