Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Senior Composite Design Engineer to enhance our engineering capabilities at Latitude Inc.

The successful candidate will possess a robust background in aerospace engineering and structural evaluation, with significant expertise in the design and assessment of composite materials and structures.

This position entails spearheading the design and development of sophisticated composite components and systems, ensuring adherence to stringent aerospace standards and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Direct the design and development of composite aerospace structures and components from initial concept to final production.

2. Execute comprehensive structural analysis and optimization of composite materials and structures utilizing advanced simulation tools and methodologies.

3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and testing, to uphold design integrity and performance.

4. Create and maintain design documentation, encompassing CAD models, drawings, specifications, and reports.

5. Conduct failure analysis and propose solutions to enhance the performance and reliability of composite structures.

6. Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, offering technical leadership and expertise in composite design and analysis.

7. Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements in composite materials, and emerging technologies to foster innovation within the team.

8. Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulations throughout the design and development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

- A minimum of 8 years of experience in composite design and structural analysis, preferably within the aerospace sector.

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and finite element analysis (FEA) tools (e.g., Abaqus, NASTRAN).

- Strong comprehension of composite materials, manufacturing processes, and structural behavior.

- Proven track record in leading complex design projects and delivering high-quality outcomes within tight timelines.

- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically and creatively.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

- Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA) is highly advantageous.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with composite repair and maintenance practices.

- Knowledge of aerospace certification processes and documentation.

- Advanced understanding of composite manufacturing techniques, such as autoclave curing, resin transfer molding (RTM), and filament winding.

- Project management experience and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $170,000 annually

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
