The Chief Engineer – Product Safety & Reliability will play a pivotal role as a leader and authority in Product Safety Customer Support initiatives. This position involves initiating and coordinating efforts related to external customer inquiries and product safety communications.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in Off-Highway equipment, relevant experience in product development, and a strong dedication to problem-solving and delivering effective customer solutions.


YOUR IMPACT
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading initiatives as the Product Safety expert for customer support activities.
  • Collaborating with the Product Safety team and other departments to ensure timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • Providing data and insights related to external customer requests.
  • Developing and implementing product safety strategies in conjunction with departmental and business leaders.
  • Facilitating problem-solving and cross-functional activities with Engineering and other departments regarding product safety and reliability.
  • Monitoring new product development meetings, design reviews, and compliance with engineering procedures.
  • Attending industry events and trade shows to support the product team and gather insights.
  • Coordinating level II support for customers and end users through various communication channels.
  • Acting as a liaison between Product Safety and other departments, including Engineering, Service, and Marketing.
  • Reviewing and developing materials such as Field Service Bulletins and Service Information.
  • Participating in Global Quality and Customer Support meetings to address new and existing product concerns.
  • Initiating reviews of new products for standards compliance.
  • Representing the company in matters related to government and trade associations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of company information for legal proceedings.
  • Leading specific programs as assigned by the department head.
  • Occasional travel to support industry events and customer meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Agriculture Technology, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask.
  • A willingness to learn and engage with the business to provide effective solutions.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated knowledge in aerial lift and material handling equipment.
  • Education or experience in electro-mechanical, mechatronics, or engineering disciplines.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in Product Safety, Reliability, Quality, or Compliance Engineering.
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical knowledge of components in heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Creative and innovative thinking with the ability to drive change.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
