The Principal Engineer of Product Safety & Reliability will act as a key leader and expert in Product Safety Customer Support initiatives. In this capacity, you will spearhead and manage activities related to external customer inquiries and product safety communications.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in Off-Highway equipment, relevant experience in product development, and a strong desire to resolve issues while delivering effective customer solutions.


YOUR IMPACT

  • Take the lead in initiating, coordinating, and owning various activities and processes related to product safety.
  • Serve as the Product Safety expert for customer support initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Product Safety team and other departments to ensure timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • Provide data and insights to the business regarding external customer requests.
  • Develop and implement product safety strategies in alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives with Engineering and other departments on product safety and reliability matters.
  • Oversee specific product lines and actively engage in new product development meetings, design reviews, and engineering processes.
  • Participate in customer events and trade shows to support the product team and gather industry insights.
  • Coordinate level II support for customers through various communication channels regarding machine applications, safe usage, repairs, and technical specifications.
  • Act as a liaison and meeting coordinator between Product Safety and other departments.
  • Review and develop documentation such as Field Service Bulletins and Service Information.
  • Attend and contribute to Global Quality, Test, and Customer Support meetings, proposing actions as necessary.
  • Organize reviews of new products for compliance with safety standards.
  • Represent the company in matters related to government and trade associations.
  • Assist in preparing company information for legal matters, collaborating with various functions.
  • Lead and support additional programs as assigned by department leadership.
  • Occasional travel may be required for industry events and customer meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Agricultural Technology, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask.
  • A willingness to learn and engage with the business to provide effective solutions for customers.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven knowledge of aerial lift and material handling equipment.
  • Education or experience in electro-mechanical, mechatronics, or related engineering fields.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in Product Safety, Reliability, Quality, Compliance, or Improvement Engineering.
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical knowledge of components and systems in heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence peers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to drive and sustain change.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
