Position Overview

The Lead Clinical Technology Specialist independently conducts laboratory tests and processes on patient samples or products utilizing advanced analytical instruments. This role includes training new staff, leading projects, and supporting laboratory operations. Each Lead Clinical Technology Specialist is accountable for the daily technical oversight of their designated area.

This position may require travel to various community sites throughout the week.



Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all primary functions of a Clinical Technologist.
  • Facilitate orientation, training, and competency evaluations for new laboratory personnel.
  • Initiate or oversee projects.
  • Manage quality control troubleshooting, setup, and maintenance in the assigned area.
  • Oversee instrument operations, including maintenance management, complex troubleshooting, supply oversight, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to CAP requirements for the assigned area.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or a related scientific field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of laboratory experience, including at least 1 year in a designated discipline or service area.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a lead or senior role within a clinical laboratory setting, with a total of 2 years of clinical lab experience performing high complexity testing being acceptable in lieu of 4 years.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, or equivalent, with ongoing education maintenance required within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to train students, new graduates, and experienced team members.
  • Proficient understanding of applicable laboratory regulations.
  • Skilled in MS Office Suite.
  • Capability to develop and present content to senior leadership and other groups.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management, conflict resolution, and complex problem-solving.

Preferred:

  • Certification as a CAP Inspector Team Member.

The compensation for this role ranges from $42.63 to $63.93 per hour, with the final offer based on experience and qualifications.
