We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Ascension Borgess in Kalamazoo, MI. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to patients in the Birthing Center, utilizing evidence-based practices and adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with patients and families to develop and implement individualized care plans, promoting patient-centered care and empowering patients to take an active role in their health.
- Participate in open discussion with the healthcare team to identify mutual goals and develop strategies to achieve them.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and revise care plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient care.
- Assess, detect, monitor, and attempt to prevent complications associated with health situations or treatment plans.
- Notify the physician of patient condition and response to nursing intervention, documenting this action.
- Ensure patient pain is assessed, treated, reassessed, documented, and evaluated.
- Delegate tasks to other licensed and unlicensed care providers based on clinical nursing judgment and skill of the care provider.
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Certification specializing in Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support (S.T.A.B.L.E.) Program obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Certification specializing in Electronic Fetal Monitoring obtained within 18 months of hire date or job transfer date for nurses working in Labor & Delivery required.
- Experience in Labor and Delivery or Mother-Baby unit highly preferred.
- Preferred OR circulator experience, but willing to train.
