About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Special Assets Management Loan Officer to join our team at AgCarolina Farm Credit. As a key member of our lending team, you will be responsible for managing an assigned portion of our high-risk loan portfolio, with a focus on returning loans to accrual status or liquidation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an assigned portion of high-risk loan portfolio, ensuring timely filing of necessary documents and effective protection of the Association's interests.
  • Actively work with borrowers and lending staff to facilitate loan restructuring and maintain complete understanding of borrower rights.
  • Makes recommendations for foreclosures, foreclosures bid strategy, charge off and return of accounts to accrual status.
  • Gather, analyze, and reconcile credit and financial data to determine risk and make timely and accurate decisions based on 5 C's of credit.
  • Determine appropriate controls and monitors follow-up on servicing plans on assigned accounts.
  • Reviews and submits complete loan packages and coordinates activities on litigated loans with both internal and/or external counsel.
  • Analyzes and evaluates financial information to determine desirability of negotiated settlement requests.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and neighboring departments.
Requirements
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or agricultural economics.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience of related agricultural lending experience, collection experience, and/or proven performance.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical, judgement, and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions that serve the best interest of the Association and the borrower.
  • Capability to handle high stress situations in both a business and professional manner.
  • Full understanding of 5 C's of credit: capacity, capital, conditions, character, and collateral.
  • Computer experience with intermediate skills in Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Quick learner, strong problem solver, and adaptable.
  • Work independently under general supervision.
