Job Overview

This role is crucial within the Special Servicing Division, collaborating closely with the Director of Servicing Operations and the Portfolio Management team to assess risks associated with a portfolio of business purpose loans, aiming to reduce potential losses. The position reports directly to the Director of Servicing Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The chosen candidate will engage in various asset management functions, including analysis, monitoring, and evaluation of projects.
  • The Asset Manager will oversee a portfolio of distressed and criticized commercial real estate loans across diverse property types, focusing on risk management and loss mitigation.
  • Facilitate the resolution or exit of complex transactions through debt restructuring, negotiation of settlement agreements, legal action, and/or collateral liquidation via note sales.
  • This role may encompass all product types, including Multifamily, New Construction, Fix & Flip, and Rental loans.
  • The selected individual will handle asset management tasks throughout any phase of the product lifecycle.
  • Minimize potential losses to the organization by identifying concerns and opportunities, reporting on known issues, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Continuously monitor risks within the portfolio and propose action plans to prevent further deterioration.
  • Generate and maintain monthly and quarterly asset performance reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct site visits to designated assets to assess conditions and meet with sponsors, vendors, and appraisers as necessary.
  • Prepare recommendations regarding troubled assets for presentation to senior management and investors.
  • Monitor delinquencies, operating statements, watchlists, and collateral condition reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in asset management or a related field.
  • Prior experience in private lending is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of loan documentation and real estate on a business level.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Ability to conduct thorough research and follow through to completion.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, data collection, analysis, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Capability to work independently and manage tight deadlines.
