About This Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Admissions Coordinator - Senior Care Specialist to administer the day-to-day operations of our skilled nursing facility, Edenbrook Rochester. This role plays a key part in facilitating a smooth admission experience for new guests and maintaining effective communication within the facility.

Main Responsibilities

This position provides essential office support for the admissions department, performing general clerical duties such as typing, filing, and maintaining admission records. The ideal candidate will assist guests and their families with the admission process, ensuring all necessary paperwork and records are obtained, and that rooms are prepared appropriately.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • General Office Support:
  • Perform various clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Develop and maintain a well-organized filing system for the admissions office.
  • Retrieve information from files as needed.
  • Admission Assistance:
  • Assist guests and family members with completing the admission process.
  • Ensure all admission paperwork is completed and necessary financial and medical records are obtained.
  • Meet with guests and families on the day of admission to answer questions and ensure a seamless transition.
  • Room Preparation:
  • Verify that rooms are adequately prepared prior to the arrival of new guests.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Provide regular census reports to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Report any hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, or supply issues to the relevant personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
  • Report guest concerns to the appropriate department head.
  • Guest Interaction:
  • Maintain a comfortable, private, and dignified environment for our guests.
  • Interact with guests in a manner that conveys warmth, respect, and promotes a caring atmosphere.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to call lights when working in guest care areas.
  • Safety and Infection Control:
  • Guarantee that established infection control and standard precaution practices are consistently upheld.
  • Follow established safety protocols when performing tasks and utilizing equipment and supplies.
  • Meetings and Training:
  • Attend and participate in departmental meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in admissions or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and clerical skills.
  • Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Abilities: Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with infection control and standard precaution practices.
  • Attitude: Compassionate and respectful attitude towards guests and their families.

The estimated salary for this role is between $55,000 and $65,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
