Leadership Philanthropy Officer

MaineHealth, a leading health system in Maine and New Hampshire, seeks a skilled Leadership Gift Officer to join its development team. This role is focused on building relationships with key stakeholders and securing leadership gift commitments to support the organization's strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of securing major gifts, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative leadership. Experience with planned giving and grant writing is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit leadership gift prospects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, community leaders, and healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to understand organizational priorities and develop effective fundraising strategies
- Secure leadership gift commitments to support MaineHealth's strategic priorities
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously under pressure of sequential deadlines
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and/or CFRE or CAP certification preferred
- At least 5 years of development experience, ideally with a background of raising funds in a healthcare or academic medical center setting
- Excellent written and oral communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to travel when necessary, both in state and out of state
