Leadership Gift Officer Opportunity

MaineHealth, a leading health system in Maine and New Hampshire, seeks a skilled Leadership Gift Officer to join its development team. This role is focused on building relationships with potential donors and securing leadership gift commitments to support MaineHealth's strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of securing outright major gifts and experience with planned giving and grant writing. They will be a key contributor to the development operation at MaineHealth, which is collaborative and team-oriented. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build relationships with potential donors and secure leadership gift commitments
  2. Develop and implement strategies to secure major gifts
  3. Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to achieve MaineHealth's mission and vision
  4. Work closely with the development team to achieve fundraising goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and/or CFRE or CAP certification preferred
  • At least 5 years of development experience, ideally in a healthcare or academic medical center setting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously under pressure
