Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Managing Director to lead our Liability Claims team at Safety National. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of liability claims, supervising a team of claims analysts and managers, and providing strategic guidance to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly or indirectly negotiate claim settlements with oversight of direct reports within established authority levels.
  • Coordinate litigation management efforts on claims, including selection of counsel and monitoring of counsel performance.
  • Identify claims with reinsurance and provide initial and subsequent updates according to department procedures.
  • Communicate with Underwriting, Risk Control, Finance, and Client Engagement departments regarding account service issues, large losses, and specific TPA issues and/or concerns.
  • Monitor the performance and completion of annual performance appraisals for direct reports, manage the hiring and onboarding/training of new claims analysts and managers, and coordinate ongoing training of direct reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven to ten years' experience in Liability claims adjusting and litigation management with a primary insurance carrier, including experience adjusting Commercial Auto and General Liability Claims.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience adjusting Public Entity, Cyber, Excess, Umbrella, and Construction Liability Claims.
  • Experience adjusting claims in multiple jurisdictions.

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
